Cannvas to Present at the Technology and Innovation Showcase at Medical Cannabis Week
TORONTO, May 24, 2018 /CNW/ – Cannvas MedTech Inc. (“Cannvas” or the “Company“), a leading business technology company within the cannabis space, is pleased to announce that the Company’s CEO, Mr. Shawn Moniz, will be one of four speakers at today’s Technology and Innovation Showcase as part of the 2018 Medical Cannabis Week.
The Cannvas sponsored showcase brings together the nation’s technology professionals and innovators to discuss topics related to the future of cannabis not only here in Canada, but globally. Medical Cannabis Week presents an opportunity to engage in conversation about an alternative medicine touching a growing number of Canadians.
“I am honoured to be part of the impressive lineup of the Technology and Innovation Showcase,” said Shawn Moniz, chief executive officer of Cannvas MedTech. “Medical Cannabis Week is the ideal venue to introduce our innovative cannabis service, Cannvas.me. Our technology consolidates the many disparate sources of information with competing priorities, into a single, intuitive and interactive information source they can trust.”
With the legalization of both medical and recreational cannabis in Canada quickly approaching, there continues to be an information void with respect to the health and wellness benefits of this growing alternative medicine. More and more research is being conducted on the benefits of medical cannabis, but vague and anecdotal information continues to be the norm. In Canada there are over 260,000 patients using medical cannabis. This number is surely to grow with the introduction of an information source they can rely on to be safe and unbiased and can assist with determining an appropriate cannabis product.
The Technology and Innovation Showcase is being held this evening, May 24 from 6-9pm at Concert Hall in Toronto. The showcase includes four speakers: Shawn Moniz, CEO of Cannvas MedTech; Sarah Medel, Director of Patient Education of Growthwise Health; Fern Glowinski, CEO, Merrco; and John Prentice, President and CEO of Ample Organics, who will explore recent technology and innovation in medical cannabis and postulate on market conditions when recreational use becomes a legal reality.
